Layers of Grace

Cake is built in layers — each one carefully prepared, stacked, and held together with something sweet. Life, too, comes in layers: joy, sorrow, waiting, breakthrough. And in the trials, when the layers feel heavy or uneven, Jesus is the One who holds us together.

Just as frosting binds a cake with beauty and flavor, His grace binds our hearts with strength and peace. He doesn’t remove the layers — He redeems them. He adds sweetness where we least expect it.

2 Corinthians 12:9  And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.

So if today feels like a dense layer in your story, remember: the final slice is coming, and it will be good. Jesus is still in the kitchen — still crafting something beautiful.

Let’s Pray:

Lord Jesus, thank You for holding me together when life feels heavy. Help me trust that every layer of my story is being shaped by Your grace, and that the sweetness of Your presence will always rise to the top. In Your Name, Jesus, Amen.
